| 内容記述 | After being defeated in 1945 and occupied, Japan regained its sovereignty in 1952 and went on to achieving spectacular economic growth. This presentation looks at how the United States viewed Japan after World War II as communism spread in East Asia, and how the status of Japan in the eyes of the U.S. evolved. It also looks at the significance of the United States for Japan that emerged exhausted after losing a war and was desperate to regain its sovereignty. The current administration’s Japan policies in the context of diplomatic history is also discussed, building upon the anaylysis on the evolution of the U.S.-Japan relationship during and after the Cold War. | |||||||
